Kenya's Supreme Court declared the mandatory death penalty unconstitutional in 2017. 1000s of people became eligible for resentencing but very few of them were aware of the landmark ruling. That's where we come in. To help 👉🏿

As a witness to the execution who was in the room, I’ll say this: repeated convulsions and extensive vomiting for nearly 15 minutes would not seem to be “without complication”

“Oklahoma chose to resume lethal injection executions this week. The result: a horribly botched execution. John Grant convulsed and vomited as the drugs were administered. Lethal injection is broken beyond repair, our tells 👇🏽

People think Guantánamo is a relic of the past. But Ravil Mingazov’s case shows that the stigma of the notorious US prison camp sticks. Despite being cleared for release by six US Government agencies, Ravil isn’t home with his son yet. 👇🏿

Oklahoma botched John Grant’s execution last night, just like they did with Clayton Lockett. He was convulsing violently and vomiting repeatedly. Same drugs, same secret purchases, same result. OK must stop lethal injection executions.

Ali al-Nimr has been released. His only 'crime' was attending pro-democracy protests and he faced execution despite being a child at the time. Sadly, children in Saudi Arabia still risk execution, despite promises that this practice would end.

🇰🇪 1000s of people became eligible for resentencing off Kenya's death row in a day. But the reality on the ground was that no one had a full list of who those people were. That’s where our fellows Winnie and Shirly come in.

A former US Government Counterterrorism adviser tells MPs that the UK Government’s refusal to repatriate its nationals from Syria, as the US has done, "plays into the hands of terrorists" and "will make all of us less safe". The Government should listen.

🇺🇸 Saifullah Paracha was cleared for release from Guantánamo by six US Government agencies on May 18, 2021. But, 163 days later, he still has no idea when he'll go home to his family. Tell US leaders: Send Saifullah Paracha home. 👇🏻

Former chief prosecutor calls detention of British nationals in Syria “a coward’s Guantánamo". As he says, this includes “scores of demonstrably innocent people”, including women who were trafficked and their children, which is a “blot on our conscience”

This is Ali al-Nimr, going home after nine years in a Saudi Arabian prison. He was sentenced to death for childhood 'crimes', including joining protests. But following years of pressure, he was re-sentenced in Feb. This is long overdue. We are overjoyed for Ali and his family.

Ahmed Rabbani is our latest client cleared for release from Guantánamo. He's been locked up without charge by the US for 19 years. His clearance is news worth celebrating - but it's not the end of the story. He still has no idea when he'll be allowed to go home.
