The Rep Project’s Tweets

Some people assume that the only “real” rape is stranger rape, but anyone can commit sexual assault. #RapeMyths create a false narrative of sexual violence, making it harder for survivors’ voices to be heard. Join us in challenging these myths and demanding more from our culture.

A lot has changed — for better & for worse — since I released my film Miss Rep in 2011. And although we’ve made significant strides towards equitable representation in leadership & media, we still have work to do to bring women’s stories & lived experiences to the forefront.

Now 84, Trina Robbins has long been a pioneer in the men-dominated comic book industry. Before she made history drawing Wonder Woman, Robbins was a co-founder of an underground all-women anthology titled "Wimmens Comix."
For decades, Wonder Woman was only drawn by men. In the 1980s, Trina Robbins drew four issues of "The Legend of Wonder Woman," becoming the first woman to draw the iconic superhero for D.C. comics.

Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander women earn just $0.80 for every dollar earned by white men. When we move past the average, the wage gap for certain communities is even larger, with some earning less than $0.50 to every white man's dollar. #AAHNPIEqualPayDay

We applaud U.S. Trade Rep. Katherine Tai's response to Rep. Greg Murphy's sexist comment, but it's a shame that women continue to face bias around communication. We need to end the sexist double standards and criticisms! 👏

And some people argue that there's no market or audience for women's sports! Overall viewership of the women's March Madness tournament has also been up this year. The moral of this story? Invest in women's sports! 🏀 #RespectHerGame
