Last month, I hosted a roundtable discussion with #IL14 seniors to talk about the #OlderAmericansAct and learn how Congress can better to support their needs.
During our discussion, I heard how seniors in our community depend on the Older Americans Act for vital services like Meals on Wheels, transportation, caregiver support, and community resources that help improve their health, wellbeing, and independence.
I also learned about the crucial need for improvements to local community service centers, like Fox Valley Community Services, that bring seniors together for social events and help connect seniors with legal services, counseling, and more.
Today, @EdLaborDems began the reauthorization process of this bill, which passed committee with unanimous bipartisan support. I’ll continue to fight to make sure the priorities of our community are included, and seniors in our community have the resources they need.
