Each year, nearly 2 million college students miss out on federal Pell Grant funding, simply because they didn’t refile their FAFSA Application. Research suggests that the complex financial aid process prevents many students from receiving the aid they qualify for.

Thank you
@RepUnderwood ! As a tech savvy parent with a PhD, I struggled with fafsa and other financial aid forms. Mulitiple sites and some info flowing between but not all - just really badly organized and hard to follow. Have often wondered how many give up...Thanks. Thank you so much! This was a stressful frustration for us the 8 years we had to file to put both our kids through undergraduate school. This will relieve some of that unnecessary stress and confusion for future families.

“File Once” at first glance looks like an easy way to take advantage of a gov’t program. I do not believe, as a Pell Grant recipient myself, that making an annual request for Pell Grants is too much to ask of college students, as financial circumstances can change year to year.
