By 2043, the population of women veterans is set to nearly double. As this number grows, the VA must modernize to ensure that all VA facilities are equipped to provide comprehensive services for all veterans.

Thank you. As a male veteran, I have seen areas where the VA has lagged behind the times. Staff and volunteers should treat everyone the same instead of assuming that men are vets and women are dependents. Programs are needed to address issues that are unique to women vets.

While we are studying these issues the VA should also look into the ways traditional treatments lead to underserving or even exacerbating the impact of service on LGBTQ service members. We live in a world where anyone can be a veteran and all veterans deserve equal access to care
