I’ve been haunted by the loss of 6 children who died in our care, and the conditions I saw first-hand at the border. The humanitarian crisis should deeply concern all Americans, but as a nurse I was especially troubled by the medical conditions.

The majority of these people were not “apprehended”. They are seeking asylum and entered legally. They should not be locked up.
