I’ve been haunted by the loss of 6 children who died in our care, and the conditions I saw first-hand at the border. The humanitarian crisis should deeply concern all Americans, but as a nurse I was especially troubled by the medical conditions.

As a nurse I'm also appalled by the inhumanity and cruelty. I'm also appalled by the lack of any meaningful response from nursing orgs - a concerned letter doesn't do it, and <10% of nursing orgs have even done that puny step. -

It's troubling. Pictures of the children haunt me. Americans have been blessed beyond measure. But so many Americans seem not to understand that we are blessed 2B a BLESSING to others. We must pay it forward. The callous rejection of refugees is unGodly to say the least.
