Across the country, health insurance is still unaffordable for millions of American's. I recently heard from a #IL14 nurse from Antioch, who shared her story on the challenges she and her husband face to stay covered. Let me tell you what I heard:
She and her husband both currently have employers who do not offer them insurance. Together, they spend nearly 35% of their income on health insurance premiums and required out of pocket costs.
Like millions of Americans, her family pays full freight with after-tax dollars to stay insured, yet do not receive the tax benefits that people with employer-sponsored health insurance enjoy.
