Thank you Lauren! Losing our SALT deductions has greatly increased our taxes owed over what we owed last year. We believe in paying our fair share, but feel the Republican tax plan has unfairly shifted the tax burden onto middle class Americans.

Despite huge increases in our property taxes (
#IL14 resident), this year we will not get ANY refund. We are paying thousands more in federal income taxes than we ever have since our retirement.Such is the from the crazy, sloppy "Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017"@senatemajldrThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Taking away a tax write off is the same as raising taxes. In my case I have a substantial new tax to pay. Don’t forget that SALT is property, income and sales tax. A $10,000 max is easy to go over.

Thank you, Rep. Underwood! These changes are definitely impacting our house values in IL14!

Thank you both for looking into it. That provision unfairly penalizes taxpayers who live in cities & counties with high property taxes.
