83% of the tax cuts in the #GOPTaxScam would go to the wealthiest 1% of Americans while 86 million middle class families would see their taxes increase. This is, in part, why I voted against the bill twice in two days. 1/

It's also estimated that the #GOPTaxScam would add $2.2 trillion to the deficit. In order to pay back the money they recklessly borrowed, Republicans in Congress will likely try to cut vital programs like Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and potentially even VA programs. 2/

This type of funding uncertainty is why I support the inclusion of a long-term funding solution in HR4242, the VA Care in the Community Act. Doing so would help safeguard community care funding for our veterans from potential Republican-proposed cuts in the future. 3/

Yesterday in the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs markup of the VA Care in the Community Act, Republicans moved forward with a vote on HR4242 without the inclusion of a long-term funding solution. As a result, I could not in good conscience vote for the bill as written. 4/

Our vets deserve the peace of mind that comes w/ knowing the programs they rely on for care won’t be ransacked when the GOP goes looking to clean up after their #GOPTaxScam mess. I'll keep fighting until we get a long-term funding solution for HR4242 both parties can support. 5/5

You were by Obama's side as he doubled the national debt, and now you claim to be a deficit hawk. #zerocredibility #soreloser
