My position of “no foreign aid” might sound extreme to some,
but I think it’s extreme to bankrupt our country and put future generations of Americans in hock to our debtors.

Totally fair to be against all aid to any country…
But you do realize, as a US Congressman, that “aid” is a Realpolitik term for “influence,” right?
And where America has so far pulled back “aid” China has stepped in, right?
Makes sense to cut “aid” and lose influence, right?

So because we are in debt now is justification to go further in debt?

The return on our investment on foreign aid (<1% of total budget spending) is large. We should spend it wisely. But it is an enormous carrot that we can and should use to protect our interests & be a good citizen at the same time.

I think aid to other nations can be voluntary not through our mandated taxes. Many nonprofits do much better work than our government propping up other governments that end up a complete fubar

Mr. Massie, I greatly respect your perspective and agree. That being said taxpayers don’t provide the money the gov’t spends. They control our behavior through taxes and fund their expenditures through currency debasement aka time-theft. It’s important to realize this.
