Agree. Let’s not celebrate judicial activism just because one case creates an appealing outcome. If the people of a state don’t want civil asset forfeiture, appeal to the state legislature to make a change.

Of course it applies to the states and local government. Why wouldn’t it? Make me wonder if you want different states to have different inalienable rights? Says volumes....

It didn't at first. It only applied to the federal government, until the 14th came along.
