What's the least-popular policy that you would pass if you could? It has to be feasible to implement (no "outlawing alcohol" or something).

so no poor person could ever leave anything to his children? and piece by piece the government ends up owning the now privately owned homes in run down neighborhoods?
-
If everything you got was paid for by the government, then no, you can’t leave it to your children.
-
the state paid for the house, the state owns the house. not 'conservative', but OK. then the misfortune and disadvantage continues. OK. 2+2= next generation in poverty too. an emotionally appealing plan to some, but unintended consequences....

Roads tho. And billable hours for a justice system that exists to protect property based on how much property you had to be protected etc etc etc
-
Roads funded with user fees (pay as you go), so we don’t need to track those balances.
-
You’re insane. That idea would cause massive traffic jams & a complete collapse of employment as we all stopped at every turn to pay some selfish ass a toll to drive on his road. No one could ever get to work or school.

These libertarian dorks don’t realize the benefits capitalists receive from socialism.

what about earned benefits that derive from deferred income?? i.e., VA & TRICARE health benefits?? you counting those as ‘entitlements’?? how about my
@USNavy retired pay?? there’s an unpleasant tendency to mix earned benefits & unearned entitlements … -
And no! Your VA etc are not “entitlements” in any fashion except when the republicans want to call them such. They are spinning the truth and this has to stop. I hope you ppl kick them all out on the street. We are tired of lies and “alternative facts”.

How about Make the Corporations Pay a Living Wage Act so your idea would be moot?

If we attach a monitary value to the damage conservatives have done to society, their great grandchildren would still be paying off their debts under this backwards scheme.

Social security is paid into by future recipients from their payroll. It's not paid out from income tax revenue. A lot of people check out without ever receiving what they paid in. Most receive less than they paid in. That doesn't make the remainder fair game for the gov to use.

They aren’t entitlements when you have paid into them all your life
@RepThomasMassie! Stop the spin!! Tax the full amount of income instead of stopping st $128k! -
Just for the record, they're called entitlements due to you paying in to them your whole working life, you are entitled to them because it's your money. The term has been perverted to sound like a negative.
-
Ok thanks for the info. I had never heard them called entitlements until the Repubs started talking several years ago about getting rid of entitlements. They thought ppl would think they were telling about welfare etc but turns out they were telling about our social security

Isn’t it time we did away with this immoral, legalized system of thievery?

Only if while alive I’m given the opportunity to opt out of entitlements, including the requirement to pay for them.
