Definitely do some research on this. It dates back to emancipation times. Conservatives say it applies only to freed slaves and their descendants. This is just another trumpian smokescreen as he converts democracy to autocracy.

Except when it is being abused and causes our already taxed welfare system to have to take care of them because the parents aren’t citizens and don’t pay income taxes.
