When I served in the military I didn't care if it was a Black, Asian, Hispanic, White, or Native that had my back just as long as they were a Black American, Asian American, Hispanic American, White American or Native American. The AMERICAN part was what mattered.

This is a great sentiment, but don’t forget that some of those who had your back were people who were striving to BECOME American. Now some of them, or their family members, are being deported.

that doesn't change the fact we have a lot of unamerican people in our country, who don't understand the constitution.

Thank you so much Rep. Lieu. My mat. grandmother was from Japan and became a naturalized citizen. Though I did not get to know her, as she passed before I was born, I can imagine the hurtful comments others directed at her. We are all better because of immigrants.
-
But she became a naturalized citizen, didn’t she? Good for her fir following the law and doing it the right way.
