If @POTUS wants to use military force against Iran (or any nation) he must first make his case to Congress & seek authorization. It’s time to repeal the 2001 AUMF so this POTUS & future admins can’t use shaky legal footing to drag us into conflict w/o proper authorization. (3/3)

Hypothetically, what case could be made for Iranian involvement in the 9/11 attacks? I know that they'd seize any shaky pretext they can to do whatever they want, and worry about justifying it after-the-fact, but in principle isn't the 2001 AUMF fundamentally limited in scope?
