Rep. Ted Lieu Retweeted Social Security

Today’s 2.8% COLA increase is good news, but we need Social Security benefits to keep up w/ the rising costs that hit seniors hard – hospital bills, doctor visits, & prescription medicine. Proud to be a founding member of the #ExpandSocialSecurity Caucus to strengthen SS for all!https://twitter.com/SocialSecurity/status/1050363709728714752 …

So what? It'll just be taken back in Medicare increases, and income tax. Not even counting the fact that inflation is more than 2.8° anyway!

I started researching Medicare and I am terrified. If it goes up any more, my entire SS checks will be taken. While great to have hospital care my required drugs are more expensive than from previous employers.

Don’t forget the $.14 per gallon gas tax and don’t forget the Doubling of the DMV fees. You also have to pay for that bullet train going to nowhere. If you’re happy with this keep voting Democrat. If you’re not happy with all these taxes vote Republican

You haven’t heard of the high speed rail that’s under construction in the Central Valley, Fresno? That’s browns legacy. When does it stop with taxing gas or anything else? Poor mismanagement, if you’re happy vote Democrat, go ahead and run this state into the ground

I’m not rich, I got money back and seeing more on my check. Does that mean I have to give it to the state? What about all the other state taxes at the pump? When does it stop? In short, I’m tired of being taxed

How come the Dems don’t get together and come up with two or three simple messages and then beat them like a dead horse like the repubs do? They cut taxes for the rich and want to pay for it by elim SS and Medicare. They want to let those w/ pre exist cond die.

Don’t buy into that that the Republicans want to really cut into Medicare and Social Security. Those are scared tactics from the Democrats. You just got it 2.8% raise from Donald Trump, what else do you want?

Libby, trust me, nobody is going to mess with that. It would be that party’s ultimate demise to mess with that. I wouldn’t even go for that

This year's raise has been blown away by cuts to my housing subsidy and food stamps already, more in works, and that's not even counting the price of groceries skyrocketed, increase in phone bill and electricity. I got a raise, need $56 a month to stay at last year's austerity.

Yea!! And any increase will promptly be erased just like last year when my health insurance premiums went up by over $100 per mo. I got less in SS than the year before... sad.
