I am a gun owner. No civilian needs an AR. I would gladly give mine to save a child. I would limit the # of weapons I own, wait an extra month, welcome in-depth background and mental/medical checks, to purchase a gun. If it only saved 1 child, I would do whatever it takes.

So, why are people so freaked out about laws? Training, testing, background checks? I have asked this question so many times, but nobody will answer it. Or, they just scream, "It's my right to own a gun!" Can anyone please answer?

I have years of military experience. You are correct that nothing it labeled or sold as an "assault weapon." But just like you, when someone uses the term, I know exactly what the fuck they mean.
