The need for congressional action to reform policing in America was overdue long before the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, or Tamir Rice. It was overdue before Sandra Bland, Amadou Diallo, or Rodney King. That’s why I am a proud cosponsor of the #JusticeInPolicingActpic.twitter.com/jBTiButK01

All eyes are on the Supreme Court as it examines whether to hear cases on qualified immunity — a modern-day legal doctrine created by judges that has shielded police and other government officials from lawsuits over their conduct. https://trib.al/lLInLuX

Please help make the USA again the shining city on a hill it once was. This is a huge step and long overdue.. (a German still thankful for the anti-fascists landing in Normandie and freeing Europe all these years back)

I thought ending qualified immunity was discussed by Cory Booker?

I fully support your efforts. I want to point out chokeholds per se are not bad...They are useful non-lethal force techniques that may save someone's life. The crime is applying ANY force, lethal or non-lethal, to any peaceful person accused or suspected of a non-violent offence

This is much better than defunding. These are reasonable, common sense reforms. Hard to see why they would be opposed.

Can we get them out of schools to stop the school to prison pipeline and not use them as first responders to mental health crises too? I hope that is included. Thank you congressman.

Some protesters, news crews, and medics in Minneapolis found themselves stranded after recent protests: The tires of their cars had been slashed. Many assumed protesters were to blame. But videos reveal a different culprit: the police. https://bit.ly/30nl8XQ  pic.twitter.com/HH6uygLgoI
