I think this is a powerful demonstration of listening that all of us in white America need to hear. I've never had to feel that way. Seeing the police brutality against black Americans for the past 11 years in the smart phone era has opened my eyes. We must be better.
Melissa you send my mind back to NY in the 80s and 90s: Abner Louima, Amadou Diallo, Patrick Dorismond, Anthony Baez, to name just a few non-criminals murdered or tortured by the police. And those are just a few. Their stories are worth reviewing.
As a pharmaceutical representative, I drove 40,000 miles a year. I had urban, suburban & rural areas. Although I was well dressed, the feeling that I might come in contact with law enforcement was terrifying. That’s why Blacks identify with George Floyd. It only takes 8:46.
