With the utmost of respect/sympathy, not knowing all their ages, did driver have a nonrestricted license? The provisional phase for a teen license lasts a year, during which time they can’t be behind the wheel with passengers under the age of 20. This might be a teachable moment.

Some years ago three teens died in a community near me. Good kids, just made a mistake negotiating a curve and crashed head on into an oncoming car. I believe teens need graduated assumption of driving rights restricting night driving and number of passengers until competent.

My daughter and her friends just started driving this year. I worry so much.
I’m praying for these families. Unimaginable pain.

I am a father of three, one is away so I can’t hug him, one is asleep and I won’t wake him and the other, I’m on my way to seek her out and unfortunately she’ll probably squirm and squeal but oh the love.
