Can we please grow up and avoid false equivalencies? Can we please discuss the degree to which all of this is the criminalization of policy differences? BTW we have elections to sort out the policies we want presidents to set. We expect career bureaucrats to follow them.

It's against US policy to solicit things of value from foreign nationals in connection to a US election. It IS criminal. That's why we have elections to sort out who we want in Congress to protect this policy and why we expect career bureaucrats to assist in those efforts.

How about this example, did the 5 Watergate burglars in the DNC headquarters in 1972 actually bug the office? No they were unable to carry out the orders and the crime for the president.
