This is what happens when you put a natural monopoly in the hands of a publicly traded company. @PGE4Me allowed infrastructure to decline to increase profitability and increase stock price. Now they will ask taxpayers for a bailout to rebuild the infrastructure they let rust.

Congressman, that number is actually *account-holders*. If we assume each account represents ~3 people, the number approaches and likely exceeds 1M. PG&E’s mismanagement of infrastructure maintenance needs to be reported as the outrage that it is and they must be held to account.

And yet, when I use my weather map, I can’t find any city in CA with a forecast of more than 10 to 20 mph winds. In Oroville, 10 to 20 mph winds. Yet the power is off there already. And today is cooler than tomorrow. Why? Why is the power off? Signed, a constituent.

Eric, this is absolutely ridiculous. PG&E is shirking their responsibilities as a public utility by failing to provide dependable, safe electricity to its customers. How is this OK? They have failed to conduct preventive maintenance on OUR infrastructure to save $$.

can you help us figure out why notifications have been so late, and why this all seems so disorganized? EBMUD barely got the word out that they might loose power, and thus we all loose water at some point

Maybe it's my European sensibilities but rolling blackouts due to crumbling infrastructure is not the sign of country coping with things? Get well soon U.S.

It’s political, nothing to actually do with infrastructure.
