This is classic “blame the victim” (or whistleblower). The law does not need to be changed. The whistleblower doesn’t need to do anything different. People need to follow the damn law. Acting-DNI must tel Congress. There’s zero wiggle room.

This morning could have sworn
@RepMikeRogers said on CNN that the whistleblower could still come to the committees -
Rogers may have said that. But the statute is very clear that the whistleblower cannot do that. He must work with DNI/IG to coordinate testimony to Congress. He is not cleared by DNI to do that. DNI is blocking his path.

Since Trump talked about it in public, doesn’t that automatically declassify it?

A patriot would come forward anyway, consequences be damned. Our very Democracy is being destroyed. This moment requires the sacrifice of true patriots. If I knew, I'd have already appeared on Maddow.

Ask Reality Winner how good it feels in jail for being a patriot

But the whistleblower went thru the proper channels and their complaint is being buried. I don’t see why prosecute them if they go directly to congress. This is the problem here - the good guys are getting punished and the bad guys are getting away with everything. Backwards.

It’s not just prosecuting. The GOP would release his identity and smear him like they did with numerous career people working with Comey and Mueller. It’s hard when those running the Admin are lawless. Who stops them? They control Justice Dept.
