Agree, but... second amendment was created so people could protect themselves FROM the government. So do we take those away from the police and armed forces too? Otherwise, you have to amend the amendment.

private citizens do not have the same weaponry available to them as armed forces right now. I see very few people making the serious argument that we should legalize the sale of antiaircraft guns and tanks to the common person.
