Walmart will respectfully request that customers refrain from openly carrying firearms in their stores. They’re NOT banning them. (Likely because they can’t outright ban them in states that allow open carry, I think.)

Private property. Wallymart can do whatever the f they want ON THEIR PROPERTY. So I applaud them for changing their stance. We all know they are doing this because of the backlash not because of their good will. But I will take this.
