We had fire drills at school, not shooting drills. We learned to apply bandaids to scraped knees, not tourniquets to arterial bleeding. Policemen were our friends, not feared. It may be the computer age. Self driving cars. Spaceships to Mars. But this is not progress.

And a president would come on tv after something like this to give us words of comfort.

I’ve been advocating gun control for a while, Midland/Odessa is my hometown an many are against any kind of gun reform. I hope this opens their eyes but I’m doubtful.

He also talked about ‘when’, in addition to ‘if’. As a healthcare professional, it’s horrific to think that citizens have to prepare to triage and treat shooting victims because @GOP won’t #DoSomething #GunReformNow

I’d like to see a bill introduced and committee hearings held on allocating millions of dollars to train citizens on trauma aid, to hire grief and trauma counselors, to pay for the health care and funerals of shooting victims. Debate it. Show the stats. Watch GOP vote no.

I am watching....my thoughts exactly!! He sincerely believes that we all need to be ready to provide first aid to mass shooting victims!!! How awful....awful that he feels compelled to share this!! (not faulting him at all)

Part of training as a public school employee. Two school threats this week. Everyone is running on anxiety.

My 19 year old grandson was shot in the back and bled out. I learned how to compress a gunshot wound after learning that it may have saved his life.
