My condolences.
Today, we said goodbye to Ellen Tauscher. She was a mom, a Member of Congress, a diplomat, and a fierce advocate for regular folks. More than any friend I’ve lost, it’s hard to imagine she’s gone. She was a force. It’s like a world without wind or waves. RIP, Ellen.

She was my Congresswoman back when I didn't follow politics at all. It was reassuring knowing that someone competent was doing her job so well that I didn't need to try to micromanage her as a constituent. RIP, Ms. Tauscher.
