In the interest of police welfare, I encourage agencies to do all they to train officers in deescalation techniques. Deescalattion saves and improves the lives of officers and the public.

I saw a cop coming out of a sub shop as I was going in, held the door, smiled and said "Hope you have a safe day out there, and enjoy your lunch!" He literally *growled* at me with a snarly face. I have not willingly spoken to a uniformed officer since. I hope they get a memo.

I am married to a retired Philly cop. There are good ones around. They are few and far between though. Especially these days. Sorry you’ve only run into a-holes.

And that's not a "Blue Lives Matter flag," it's a thin blue line flag which has nothing to do with Blue Lives Matter except that we use it for the same purpose as every other police supporter - primarily to honor fallen officers.
