This “study” is quite interesting. They made a big assumption at the very heart of the study since sexual orientation isn’t on mortgage applications. The article doesn’t say how many mortgage applications they analyzed or from where. Seems very flawed IMO

I know it's been a while but I don't remember sexual orientation being a question asked on my mortgage application. The questions they asked were more to do with my job and income versus outgoing and overall credit worthiness. Has this changed?

I bought 2 homes and was never asked my sexual orientation. That was in 2 different states. One red state, one blue state. (California) This us a crock of BS.

I have to say I'm both gay and I the mortgage industry and I have never seen an instance where some one was denied because of there sexual orientation

I have to say that I too have been in the mtg industry for over 20 yrs - an underwriter who makes the decision. I have never heard this or any other discriminatory instance come into question. Ever! Credit facts only. Definitely NOT prevalent!

That was one of the most ridiculous articles I have ever read. They basically made up their own data and called it research.

And the fact that they dismantled Elizabeth warrens CFPB agency Which was designed to protect us all from financial institution fraud doesn’t help either. This administration is disgusting.

The CFPB has been a joke since the beginning. I issued a complaint against Reverse Mortgage Servicing back in 2016 after my mom passed and they violated their own requirements for foreclosure. The CFPB was no help at all.
