Just imagine limiting cars to twice the LEGAL speed limit would be like limiting a handgun magazine from 15 to 10 rounds. Neither stop people from breaking the law or dying.

Yes, because homes are regularly assaulted by squad sized gangs and hunters need the ability to kill 15 animals in one pass. No one but the military needs more than 10 rounds of ammunition in a single magazine.
