Once it affects your family you understand and appreciate how it can devastate the lives of those who don’t have or can’t afford insurance. No one should have to face financial ruin bc of their circumstances.

Yes. I learned a lot, watching my husband dying from cancer for two years. I learned some patients could not afford the Lidocaine cream to lessen the pain attaching the chemo drips to their ports. I always brought it with me to offer to others.

After having a complete knee replacement 5 weeks ago, I know first hand how much American healthcare sucks. Sent home after one night in the hospital. Given paid meds that made me sick and told there was none to replace it? Serious pain and accompanying depression. No home care.

This is not standard of care for joint replacement, you should at least have outpatient PT scheduled.

I hear ya. CA voter residing the EU. My kid spent 90 days in hospital before she was 12. 10 in ICU. It was so stressful. And because all kids are 100% insured here. I never saw an invoice. Not even one. I can't tell you what a gift that was. Now, break me out my
