For too many teachers in America, their class sizes are too big and their paychecks are too small. It’s time we put our kids first. Today, I walked with East Bay teachers at the #OaklandTeachersStrike. @cta @AFTunionpic.twitter.com/FiqzFGowpD

Democrats have been in charge of Californian for years and education keeps getting cut....you care now because it looks good politically, but your party does not live this behind closed doors. Hypocrisy again! You prove it with every tweet

Yes, but Eric, keep your eyes on the ball. The teachers will only feel safe if there's a border wall in the middle of the desert. That should have funding priority. You talk as if those who educate our children are a priority. I'll never understand you libs.

Just waiting for Mexico to pay for the wall. Guess the GOP wasn’t interested in the wall either since they had control of both house and Senate the last two years and never got it done!

Is open borders helping to remedy this problem?

What about Firemen and Police? I have two sons, one a fireman and one in law enforcement. Neither make a good wage for risking their lives daily.

I knew I should not have read the replies. Thank you Congressman. I hope you will continue to take this approach when it's time for legislation. The last 20 years of federal education policies have been just as damaging.

We had snow in Vegas and 1/3 of our elementary students did not come to school. We actually taught in calm classrooms where each student was able to get effective feedback and attention. Class size matters. A living wage matters FOR all students and teachers!! #5:1

How come the state with the highest tax rates and extremely wealthy areas such as LA, San. Fran., Silicone valley, has some of the worst public education, very large class sizes, and teachers on strike?

Biff, We have more than enough resources to adequately educate American citizens. If you guys would take care of our children and not the illegal Invaders kids, we could have smaller classrooms and more money for teachers. The Communist Lefts border policies are to blame.
