Finally a Swalwell tweet I can get aboard with ... ALS. My 37 yr old brother Shane died Jan. 25, 2006, leaving behind two kids. ALS might be the cruelest of diseases. Shane’s body failed him, crippled him, led him to the death, but his mind was sharp throughout the illness.

Shane was in the Air Force when stricken. He was a single dad. Shane was so healthy and active. Built his own road bicycle for touring, scuba diver, even played on a soccer league in Germany despite the language gap. The man could out run us all, was never gasping for air.
