On the eve of the one-year mark since #Parkland, the @HouseJudiciary committee just voted to pass #backgroundchecks on all firearm purchases. It’s a big step forward, and one that could only have happened with a new Congress.

IMHO, Republicans are now guilty of MANSLAUGHTER for preventing sensible gun control legislation and regulation. How many deaths could have been avoided?

Background checks have been Federal law since 1993, we have had the NICS system since 1998. Data demonstrates that firearms acquired from lawful private sales are minutely used in crimes compared to criminally obtained firearms via the black market.

Don’t confuse them with facts they don’t like that. This legislation feels good to them. As we all know feels overrule facts.
