Bills to protect animals from abuse + domestic abuse/gun control laws are both important but please don't detract from one to promote the other. It's hard enough as it is to enact legislation to protect animals. This bill against animal abuse is worthy of its own attention.

Domestic/child/animal abusers are one in the same. The FBI is now tracking animal abusers because it’s a gateway to people abuse. We need to raise awareness that these issues ARE connected so that more animal abuse cases will be taken seriously & more people will be prosecuted.

As an avid animal lover, ANYONE who harms a defenseless animal should have the same thing done to them that they did to the animal then thrown in prison. Same thing should happen to people who abuses children and women.

I’m surprised this isn’t already in the law. Even as someone that find our country totally fucked & a government that abides by the dictates of corporations the fact that it isn’t illegal to harm dogs repeatedly is shocking even to me. Why isn’t this federal law?

Seriously. My bet is that animal agriculture lobbyists have prevented a law that would punish animal abuse, because the thousands of factory farms would all be in severe violation.

No, pets are not the only ones who should be protected from abusers, but it’s a start. No living being should ever be abused, IMO.

How about banning convicted spousal abusers from ever having another spouse?
