You want to fix immigration, @realDonaldTrump? Don’t go to the border. Go across it. Go see the violent conditions families are fleeing in Central America. Then convene leaders from Mexico and Central America to find long-term solutions. That’s compassion. That’s leadership.

Dude, a giant portion of the mess in Central America was created, fostered and enabled by the disastrous American foreign policy in the region. Propping up strongmen, toppling legitimate governments, funding guerilla forces, etc.

Or you could go to some of America’s inner cities where there’s also violence. Surely we can tackle both issues, but I would love to see this same outrage for Black mothers w/children in America’s inner cities or the homeless or rural poor, but they can’t flee.
