Rep. Swalwell, you speak for nearly all Americans. For some federal workers, it could truly be tragic or devastating to miss even ONE paycheck. I’ve been there myself, and I’ve been there at Christmas time. It’s hard. But, they keep showing up and protecting us. Unpaid. 
Thank you to every federal worker — patrolling our shores in the @USCG, hunting down terrorists at the @FBI, or doing work none of us will ever know but from which all of us benefit — working this #ChristmasEve. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this avoidable stress.
