You sound like my wife. And my mom. And my mother-in-law. Like any person who knows anything about dishes has seen me with reckless abandon shove everything in a dish washer.

I wash dishes by hand..then put in the dishwasher..drives my sons nuts

I do too. and if I don't handle the dishwasher there's actually stuck on spaghetti and eggs on the dishes which makes it even harder to get off. Which I suspect is their plan all along that I'm in charge of the dishwasher

I once gave a housemate a 30 day notice for putting my cast iron in the sink with soapy water in it "to soak".
