Our lives are not shorter due to healthcare. We spend more than any country now. Our loves are short because we have been taught faulty nutrition pushed by big corp who sell is shit food while we work practically year round with hardly a break. the WAY we live is killing us

In Nov 2016 The
#USSurgeonGeneral released a comprehensive report on#addiction and re-classified it as a brain disorder. The landmark study got lost in the post election noise. Shortly afterwards Trump fired that US Surgeon General. Please redistribute it to your colleagues.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

My doctor told me US is 27th in the world for healthcare. Not good.

Would love to know where he/she got that information. I'd like to read up on it.

Drug use and depression are not inherently problems that can be fixed with “healthcare for all” or “cures” as you put it. When life lacks meaning, people want to numb themselves through drugs, or decide life isn’t worth living at all. We need a culture change.

I hope that by more cures you mean a significant investment in and support for preventative healthcare. Part of our opiod crisis could be mitigated by better awareness and coverage of alternative methods to manage pain, like physical therapy.
-
But right now physical therapy benefits and care are being reduced by third party evaluators (used by insurance companies) who are not medical professionals and have no connection to the episode of care and no history with the patient. So patients are only left with a pill...
