No relationship exists between gas prices and Trump's willingness to condemn the Saudis. Oil is a commodity that rises and falls on supply and demand. Unless we're contemplating a global oil embargo of the Saudis (and no one is), strong words shouldn't affect gas prices.

People keep tweeting that they'd pay more for gas if Trump would stand up to the Saudis. I know they're being facetious, but many may not. A better tweet would explain that Saudis benefit from trade, we buy more oil from Canada, and we shouldn't compromise on human rights.

Saudi’s have the most oil reserves and the lowest production cost. They can singlehandedly affect the price of oil. They did a linear study and found that $60 is the sweet spot where crackers go bankrupt but still keeps the Saudi’s in decent financial shape.

I can understand it exactly. Final play is doing in the middle east, so USA needs to cooperation with Saudi Arabia in this project. After this mounth, oil price fall down more then now because of increasing pressure on Iran and its allies.
