As smoke billowed from the tower and concrete debris rained from the sky, 1st responders AND journalists raced to the scene. Nearly everyone else fled in the opposite direction. As we remember #September11 heroes, we must include those who risked their lives to report the tragedy

As early as this year, the number of deaths from 9/11 related illnesses could surpass the number of people lost that day. #NeverForget

Remember the fallen. Honor the lost. Never forget the depths to which a republican administration will sink in order to take America to war. Never forget the LIE - "weapons of mass destruction" - invented by warmonger John Bolton, Trump's appointed NSA. #Neverforget #Neve

Time to remember unsung 9/11 heroes!Transit officials who disrupted subway system shortly after 1st plane hit Trade Center. Subway trains did not stop & were routed away. Commuters were probably enraged til they realized they were kept out of GROUND ZEROhttp://bit.ly/2Nw21F7

I would also like to include Thank-yous to the citizens of Canada, who housed & feed the many many people in the planes diverted to Canada on that day. Their friendship shined that day!

Not to take away from them, but that’s literally the job they signed up to do. It would have been reckless for civilians to run towards the Towers. I was there. You didn’t want to do that.

Geez. Not to take away from your comment, but it still takes a metric fuckton of courage to run towards that sort of danger instead of away from it. Even if it's what you signed up to do. Courage is a measure of action despite fear, not motivation, obligation, or results.

I agree. I’m just saying that there’s nothing wrong with citizens running away. It’s what they should do.

Definitely, clear out unless you have a reason to be in harm's way. If you're not a victim, don't wait around to become one, the rescue folks are busy enough.

Good advice for hurricanes, too. When they say now is the time to evacuate, consider doing so. Don't be the guy standing around on his chimney waiting for the helicopter to drop you the rope-and-harness rig :)

The health issues of first responders and people caught in the dust cloud continue. We also cannot forget the heroes who fought in and outside Congress for passage and continuation of the James Zadroga act. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_September_11_attacks …

Trump said he was disappointed when the Stock Exchange was closed on that day. This explains his lack of action and compassion for Puerto Rico, Trump is all about one thing: Trump.
