Love having a rep (@RepSmucker) who gives just 10 mins to @witfnews Smart Talk, knowing listeners are very likely to call in w/ questions about tax bill. You’re a clever one: Make yourself too busy to hang on air. No wonder “Where’s Llyod” stickers appear in public more than you.

This is ridiculous. WITF never offered caller questions. They asked for 10 minutes on tax reform, and that's what he did.

Well, then I missed that part. What I heard was "You promised us 10 mins." Hardly time to take callers in that window, esp. since host needs to give listeners context, then ask for Smucker's thoughts, etc. An in-person town hall a good way to answer questions. Could we have one?

So if I misunderstood who set the time constraints of today's show, I am sorry about that part, and I'll own my error. However, it does not change that @RepSmucker ignores many of his constituents' requests. And that he dodges questions.

And as a comms person, you should probably know not to start off reply to a constituent calling said constituent and/or their thoughts "ridiculous." #protip #alittledefensive

You did misunderstand who set the constraints of today's interview. Apology accepted. And a claim based on no facts or context whatsoever that is totally inaccurate is ridiculous.

Thanks. And, in fairness, I think many people make assumptions based on past history, whether right or wrong. So, for example, if you're used to someone making themselves unavailable, it sets expectations. I don't think anyone would blame me for assuming he set the 10 mins.
