Our partial shutdown can only end if we are willing to compromise. President Trump is showing again he’s willing to do so. He is being reasonable. He’s making an offer for the Dreamers who have been wrapped up in our country’s immigration problems by no fault of their own. (1/2)

It’s disappointing Democrats seem to have rejected this offer even before it was made. I hope they come to their senses. I hope they do so for the Dreamers who contribute to our society, for the 800,000 furloughed workers and most of all for the safety of the American people.

You can't shift the blame to the Dems. Your homeboy ended DACA. Shutdown the government, is doing serious damage to this country.

Lloyd, do you honestly think your constituents are so ill-informed that we don’t know who is obstructing whom? @SenMajLdr is the one who’s refusing to bring any legislation to end the shutdown to the Senate floor.

You know very well that DREAMers had protection until President Trump cruelly revoked their protection. To blame their current totally avoidable precarious status on anyone other than this president is pure cynicism. Your behavior is shameful.

Once again temporary fixes don’t solve long-term problems. Just like with the debt, healthcare, climate change...GOP thinking on immigration is regressive as well. The GOP takes hostages of Dreamers and federal workers and is incapable of solving problems.

He can't solve the problem alone. He has to follow the procedure that is spelled out in our constitution, otherwise he would be like Obama and DACA. It takes Congress to make the budget and the laws.

Dude, it's been on the news today that he'd extend DACA for wall. Since the judge already extended it's an empty offer. Is your research staff furloughed?

D leadership were advised before the public speech. Continued temporary status for DACA for a permanent “wall” is not a compromise. SCOTUS did not grant Cert yesterday for the suit re DACA -that’s why Trump is offering nothing.

Compromise how? He offered a temp DACA reprieve. That SC already ruled on. He asked for no decreased wall budget and ADDED a bunch of NEW expenses. So... his “offer” is to spend more. 🤦‍♀️🙄

DACA will be unchanged for at least a year since the SCOTUS has refused to hear it. This promise means nothing. But you know this already.
