The visit left me with an overwhelming sense of the extent of the tragedy of what’s happening at the border. It impacted every member on our trip. As we walked back to our transportation, to end the day, our group of 16 Members of Congress was silent.

Hmm... silent you say. How about you all break your silence and demand Pelosi act. Don't assume everyone is aware of trump's crimes. An impeachment inquiry would inform the world and make the GOP go on record on supporting his crimes. Please do it !

Can we please establish sponsorship programs so that Americans with open homes and hearts can properly welcome and mentor the new arrivals? These are humans in need seeking safety. The inhumane shameful treatment must stop.
Entire communities once welcomed Southeast Asian refugees and helped them build new lives in America. We can do this again with Central American asylum seekers. How can we drive the hate out and return to sound policies that honor human rights and do our country proud? 
Can we please donate toothpaste, toothbrushes, and soap? I know some very generous and kind people who will help us collect these items.
