But by far the most impactful moment was was when one of the CBP officers walked by pushing an 8-month-old unaccompanied minor in a stroller. The visit left me with an overwhelming sense of the extent of the tragedy of what’s happening at the border. It impacted every member on our trip. As we walked back to our transportation, to end the day, our group of 16 Members of Congress was silent.
I live in Nicaragua. Families adore their children. Children do everything with their parents/extended family. I can't for the life imagine anyone giving up their child voluntarily unless they were in extreme danger.
I’m looking now at my 21 year old son, thinking back to when he was 8 months old. I would still give my life to save my child. Blessing on this little traveler and more on his family who did the best they could to protect their infant 
It's NOT POSSIBLE for an 8 month old baby to be "unaccompanied." SOMEONE was with him/her - what the hell happened? Why were they separated?
My guess is that there's a death or 2 involved, the baby was taken over by someone else who brought it with them to the border.
We may never know what happened to baby's family.

How can an administration enact a policy, such as their Zero Tolerance, when it is obvious they did not even asses if they had the facilities, resources, skills etc to carry it out? It should never have been put into effect until these were all evaluated and deficiencies fixed!
Or any process to reunite. I had this argument with my neighbor. No company even poorly run ones wouldn’t have done a better job of planning. He says he makes all decisions then let’s hold him accountable for the incompetence
Hell will be too good for anyone in this administration.
This has me close to tears. I didn't think this administration could shock me anymore. This does.
