The U.S. always retains the right to self-defense, but we owe it to our military — and ourselves, as a nation who has been at war in the Middle East for 18 years — to be responsible and exhaust all options, short of war.

Seriously. All Iran is doing is protecting themselves from Saudi Arabia. They are the real destabilizing factor in the region. The US is the other.

In April, the president determined the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization. 2001 AUMF grants legal authority for military action per vagaries in language of the resolution. Repeal AUMF, its purpose to capture or kill 9/11/2001 perpetrators has been served.
