For almost two decades, we've witnessed tragedies across the country, but after each one, Congress has done nothing. I support commonsense safety measures like background checks, and banning bump stocks, high-capacity magazines and assault weapons.

Mr Peters, we have background checks and bans on high capacity magazines and lastly there is no such thing as an assault rifle. The is a made up name by politicians. I challenge you to prove to me what an assault rifle is. And we already have strict gun laws on the books.
