In particular, I hope he sees how our relationship with Mexico is vital to our region's economy and that we don't have to choose between a safe border and one that enables international trade and tourism.
When I met with President Trump, I told him there are more effective ways to secure our border than building a wall, like adding more customs agents or using better technology to find tunnels which is what the Border Patrol actually wants.
If I were in San Diego now, I would tell him we need to pass the USA Act and we don’t need more walls.
