We have a housing crisis in San Diego and the federal government has done little to address the problem. Many San Diegans struggle to find affordable housing and are often forced to live far from work, or they can’t find housing near transit-served areas.
I introduced the bipartisan Build More Housing Near Transit Act to require applicants to @FTA_DOT New Starts —which funds commuter rail, light rail, and bus rapid transit—to evaluate the feasibility of affordable and market-rate housing near proposed projects.
Our bill will enable federal investment in transit to increase housing options for families across the country. Scott please pull your head out of wherever it is stuck & get the city& county permitting agencies to do their job - faster, cheaper and as if they cared about their customers- problems solved including affordable housing (waive fees).
